Garden Route Road trip 2016

Bloukrans 2016

After months of intense planning, saving and preparations - we finally made it happen. Best road trip ever!

Since me and Fulu live all the way in Johannesburg, we had to fly all the way to Durban to meet up with Tshianeo and Grace. The night before was so intense, the excitement was real.

At 2am we were up -- 3h00am we were heading to OR Tambo Int Airport. There we left our car at Rainbow parking services for 5 days. Was very affordable.

Flights Check!

We landed just before 7am in the morning. Flight was a bit bumpy - But we made it.

We met Tshianeo and Grace - Got on the road and headed for Port Sheptone.

We arrived at the lovely little town. Obviously - Breakfast was in order. We sat down at Jaxx. Awesome food! And we have a great view of the ocean.

After breakfast we went to the beach, go a great view. We even saw some dudes paragliding (Got inspired)

Stomachs filled. High on coffee and with some great photos we got on the N2 and headed for Port Elizaberth. A crazy 10 hour drive. But the views and sites were amazing! The small towns, wide open road, crazy mountains.
Great road trip stuff.

We arrived at Port Elizabeth at around 9pm - Properly bushed. But the Guy who accomodated us was very friendly and waited up. We check in at Blue water bay. Small lovely town 13KM from the main town.

After check in, we went to The Boardwalk for dinner - Food was not very impressive :(

We'll, day 2 was the big one! - Go beakfast from the hotel and got on the N2. We were going Bunjeeing!!!
The Bloukrans bridge is the highest single span bridge in the world.
It has a 216 Meter Jump, spanned from a remarkable view. It costs R850 to Jump and you gotta pay an extra R400 for photo's and videos.
But on your way there from PE the view of the mountains, Driving alone and just hitting a view on the ocean. It was all amazing.
Another great thing was the Wind Turbines at Jefferys Bay - They have a Wind Farm that produces enough greeen energy to power 100 000 homes.

On your way there, stop by the Total garage, and get some coffee plus a great view!

A couple of minutes later, it was D-Day...The big JUMP!
Scariest thing i've done so far. But it was amazing - Worth all the money and time we spent coming down here!

What a feeling! - After the increadible jump. We drove down to Bramon Wine Estate. Best food i've ever had. The Atmosphere, company -- Increadible.

After that increadible experience - We shot for Platternberg Bay.
That is such a lovely town!!!

Our final stop was at Knysna, great town as well. We had our dinner at Senza(Our biggest food bill - Lol. The 4 of us left a grand there)
We checked into the best BnB on our Trip - Falcon Views. I highly recommend them. Great rooms and view, great service and great food.

In the morning we got best layed out breakfast from a hotel!

After that great meal - We headed for cango caves...N2!
But it was rainly and sad!
Cango caves set us back R85pp but it was worth it...The mountain drive there was crazy!

After Cango caves we shot for East London - Stopped by Goerge and many other small towns!

Beans about Coffee had the best coffee EVER! Goodness!!!!!!!!!!

We arrived pretty late at East London - We had our worst sleep ever there the owner was racist...But anyways, that was not enough to ruin our trip.

We got up and drove all the way to Richards bay, were we sleeps in a quite little guest house. We had dinner, great dinner!

Richards Bay is a great little industrial town.
We got the best curry of our lives there from KnK

The Big one though is ST Lucia, great little town. We got breakfast and headed to the beach.

All in all, great road trip - great team!
